Superintendent Glover's 5K Walk for Wellness last Saturday (6/15/2024) was truly a success! Participants walked 12 laps around the Hillside High School Track, exercising their minds and bodies, thank you to everyone in the Hillside Public Schools District and Community in attendance! Flag Day celebrations continued this afternoon at Hurden Looker Elementary School! Students gathered in front of the Hurden Looker building, surrounding the school's flag pole. Students held flags of their own, recited the pledge of allegiance, and sang songs to commemorate the occasion! Today, (6/13/2024), Ola Edwards Community School hosted its Iron Chef: Battle Pasta competition! This was the first time an Iron Chef Competition was held in an elementary school! 6th-grade students from Ola Edwards were the chefs, divided into 4 teams: A, B, C, and D, and they were tasked with creating the best pasta dish, utilizing ingredients provided by @maschiofood! Each dish was sampled and scored by a panel of adult judges (staff from Hillside Public Schools). Our chefs' classmates also joined the fun, entering the cafeteria to cheer and support their peers! Shoutout to our Food Services Department staff, @maschiofood, Superintendent Glover, Principal Davis, Vice-Principal Diggs, Ola Edwards staff, and the phenomenal students for making this contest a hit!

Yesterday's (4/28/2024) Autism Awareness and Acceptance Event at Ola Edwards Community School was a massive success! These photos are but a snapshot of all the fun, and the wide range of activities that took place at the event. Families, students, and staff got to enjoy a beautiful day outdoors with food, ice cream, games, balloon artists, a magician, a giant inflatable slide, a petting zoo, and more! Shoutout to the Hillside Board of Education members in attendance, @hillside_firefighters, and @hillsidepolicenj who not only showed up, but participated in the fun themselves and provided a donation to the cause!
