Ms. Veech, OECS music teacher, spotlights Mrs. Brown’s class. During the first marking period music classes incorporated exciting activities with rhythm instruments. Building on previously learned concepts, students worked as a group to orchestrate a seasonal poem. Students assigned instruments to various sound effects, bringing the poem to life while following the conductor. Our activities include reading rhythms and grouping notes together into measures. Students will move on with their rhythm reading skills to create original compositions, demonstrating the musical skills that they have been learning about form, composition, orchestration, and performance.
