This month in physical education students studied the character trait of perseverance with a goal-setting exercise called The Fastest Class Challenge. At the start of each lesson students practiced running laps continuously for five minutes. We recorded the total number of laps and divided by the number of runners in each homeroom to calculate average laps per student. Students compared their posted scores to other homerooms and set goals for the following week. At the end of the four-week challenge the class with the highest average score was declared The Fastest Class in the School and awarded the champion’s trophy to display in their classroom. Congratulations to homeroom #109 Ms. Rosamilia’s fifth grade. Through perseverance these student-athletes are among the fastest runners in the school. Way to go 5R!
